Project Teamwork allows high school students to create documentary films from conception, implementation, and completion. Project Teamwork will travel to intercity high schools in The United States and International locations, working with students building livelihood skills. These skills along with other life essential skills will be learned through production of documentary films.

The film’s topic will solely be decided through student collaboration and votes. Once they choose the theme, we simply provide organizational assistance, structure, and any creative assistance required. The students will be the sole decision makers, director, producer, and various other roles required for production. Since it takes a team to produce a documentary film, students will learn aspects of budgeting, decision making, scheduling, leadership roles, project dedication, and many other life essential skills. Project Teamwork focuses on producing and directing short films with students, members of the community, and educators. The film will bring light to many social issues by providing insight to different cultures while touching on various educational topics.

Our first documentary, “Blame the Music?” explores the affects music has on young people lives, personalities, judgments, and decision-making skills. Although, the film primary interviewed high school students, we created a dialogue with parents, musical artist, and members of the community. Many questions were asked but the focus was; do we blame parents or performers for actions young people replicate from watching and/or listening to artist. The reaction was mixed but much can be learned from this film. This film creates a healthy dialog for parents, students, performers, and educators. Currently, the film is in post-production stages.
